FAQ
- When do classes begin and end?
- That decision is yours. Our classes are ongoing year round, except for the December break, and a student may join at any time, as long as class space is available. To un-enroll from class, simply let us know a minimum of two weeks (14 days) before your desired last class.
- Does my child need acting experience before being able to enroll at Next Level?
- No, we gratefully accept all experience levels from beginning to advanced, as our classes are small enough that each student receives very individualized instruction tailored to their needs.
- Do you need to be a professional actor to enroll at Next Level?
- No. While we of course have many adult and young professional actors in our classes, we also have many adult and young students who are in class for the joy and education which acting provides.
- Does my child need to audition to be accepted into Next Level’s classes?
- No, as long as we have room, we gratefully accept all students who want to enroll. Please carefully research any business that asks for an audition and large sums of money for acting classes, headshots, workshops, agent/casting director showcases, etc.
- What should I do if I want my child to pursue a professional acting career?
- First, make sure your child wants that, too, and realistically understands that a lot of hard work is involved. Second, enroll your child in professional, reputable acting classes – you wouldn’t expect your child to pursue any other profession without being educated for it. Finally, when your child is ready, as determined by you and your child’s acting instructor, seek a reputable, professional talent agent to represent them. Choosing a Screen Actors’ Guild (“SAG”) Franchise agent, whenever possible, is always a good idea.
- Can Next Level get me or my child an agent?
- Only you and your child can do that. But, we can help – a big part of what we do is refer our talented, hard-working, and responsible students to agencies for representation. However, to protect our students and our relationships with the agents, we do so only when we believe our students are ready to professionally compete in the marketplace.
- Does Next Level arrange auditions for its students?
- We teach acting – we are not a professional talent agent, and we know that, so the short answer is no. However, occasionally, casting opportunities for our students may come to our attention, because people know we have many talented actors in our classes. We may then pass those opportunities on to our students for their consideration. We do not ourselves offer casting director and agent workshops, although occasionally reputable casting directors rent our studio space for a reasonable rental fee for their workshops.
